Anti-parasitic collar for dogs and cats.
Bolfo® is a product intended for the prevention and treatment of dogs and cats infested with fleas and ticks. The collar is effective for 2.5 months against ticks and 4 months against fleas. There are two product variants – a collar for small dogs and cats – 35 cm, and a collar for large dogs – 65 cm. The optimal effect of the collar's action is achieved 24 hours after it is placed on the animal's neck. The duration and effectiveness of the collar's action depend on the length and condition of the coat, the animal's activity, and the degree of infestation.
The active ingredient of the anti-parasitic collar is Propoxur. It is an insecticide from the carbamate group. Its action involves blocking cholinesterase, which leads to the paralysis and death of parasites.
How to use:
Remove the anti-parasitic collar from its packaging and unroll it. Place the collar around the animal's neck. When correctly fitted, there should be a gap of at least two fingers between the collar and the animal's neck. In cases where the animal's coat is dirty, it is recommended to bathe it before applying the collar to achieve optimal effect.
Fleas on the animal die several hours after the collar is applied. Ticks are killed approximately within one day of the collar's application. Dead ticks detach themselves from the animal or can be easily removed.
Very rarely, ticks may appear even while wearing the collar. These are ticks hidden in the animal's coat, but they will be killed and will fall off the fur without having sucked blood.
Fleas can be tapeworm hosts, so it is advisable to use endoparasiticides at the same time.
