Description:
Procox - proven efficacy across all indications:
- more than 99.5% efficacy against roundworms (Toxocara canis, Ancylostoma caninum, Uncinaria stenocephala)
- 90.2-100% efficacy against coccidia (Isospora canis, Isospora ohioensis-complex)
Procox contains two active ingredients:
1. Emodepside (0.9mg/ml) - provides control of nematodes (roundworms). Effective against Toxocara canis (mature and immature adults, L4), Uncinaria stenocephala (mature adults), Ancylostoma caninum (mature adults).
The safety guarantees for emodepside may be lower in Collies and related breeds. As the tolerability of Procox has not been studied in these breeds, its treatment is not recommended.
2. Toltrazuril (18 mg/ml) - provides high efficacy against coccidia Isospora canis, Isospora ohioensis complex
Toltrazuril is effective against coccidian replication and oocyst shedding at all stages of infection. A single application is usually sufficient to reduce oocyst shedding. Repeated treatment with Procox is indicated only in cases of confirmed or suspected (by a veterinarian) ongoing mixed parasitic invasions with coccidia and nematodes. It is important to implement good hygiene practices, in particular maintaining clean and dry breeding conditions, to prevent re-infection from the environment. Isospora oocysts are resistant to many disinfectants and can survive for a long time in the environment. Prompt removal of feces before oocyst sporulation (within 12 hours) reduces the likelihood of infection transmission.
The safety of Procox has not been studied in pregnant dogs and lactating dogs. Therefore, it is not recommended for use in pregnant dogs and lactating dogs during the first two weeks of lactation.
