However, this leads to an unbalanced diet. Cavalor Pianissimo has a very low protein content (7.75% DCP), making it very suitable as a supplement to roughage that is very high in protein (such as silage or spring grass). Cavalor Pianissimo's low protein content also makes it suitable for horses reducing training after a competition season, horses temporarily resting (recovery), and horses prone to protein overload.

- as complete feed for active sport horses during light or moderate training - 0.8 to 1.0 kg per 100 kg live weight;
- as supplementary feed for active sport horses during light or moderate training, in addition to raw material (grass or silage) - 0.4 to 0.7 kg per 100 kg live weight;
- as complete feed for resting horses during reduced training or recovery - 0.5 to 0.7 kg per 100 kg live weight;
