For the treatment of mixed parasitic infestations caused by roundworms, tapeworms, and Giardia spp.
Roundworms:
Ascarids: Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina
Hookworms: Uncinaria Stenocephala, Ancylostoma caninum
Whipworms: Trichuris vulpis
Tapeworms: Echinococcus granulosus, Echinococcus multilocularis, Dypylidium caninum, Taenia spp.; Multiceps multiceps; Mesocestoides spp.
Dosage and method of administration: The recommended dose is 15 mg febantel, 14.4 mg pyrantel embonate, and 5 mg praziquantel / kg body weight. This corresponds to 1 tablet per 10 kg body weight.
Application advice: Oral administration. Tablets can be given alone or with food. Fasting before and after administration is not necessary. It is recommended to administer the medicine immediately before feeding. Due to the pleasant taste, dogs usually eat the tablets.
Duration of treatment: Infestation with nematodes and cestodes: for routine control of parasitosis in adult dogs, administration is required once every 3 months. For routine treatment, a single dose is recommended. In cases of severe roundworm infestation, repeat administration after 14 days is recommended. In young puppies, treatment should begin at two weeks of age and be repeated every 2 weeks until 12 weeks of age with an appropriate anthelminthic product. After which, they should be treated at 3-month intervals. It is advisable to treat the mothers at the same time the puppies are treated. For Toxocara control, lactating bitches should be treated in the second week after whelping and every two weeks until weaning.
Infestation with Giardia spp. Treatment for three consecutive days.
Contraindications: Not to be used during the first two thirds of pregnancy. Do not use simultaneously with piperazine derivatives.
Undesirable side effects: None known.
