OSTEOARTHRITIS is a pathological change in the joints, involving the destruction of articular cartilage, bones, and soft tissues around the joints. It is an inflammatory process progressing to disability and accompanied by persistent and increasing pain, which is a major cause of impaired quality of life in older cats. According to recent studies, nearly 70% of cats over 7 years old and about 90% of cats over 12 years old suffer from OA.
