After LEDs truly became more economical than fluorescent lamps, for some time there was no technology or demand for optimizing the spectrum of LED lighting for aquarium plants and the aquarium as a whole. LEDs were only used for technical purposes and home lighting. However, the light spectrum for aquatic plants differs significantly from the spectrum for an apartment or LED flashlights. Here, we need a photosynthetically active light emission range and a full spectrum that includes ALL areas of the visible light spectrum. Only these two components make for ideal light for aquarium plants! Since JBL developed the world's first full-spectrum fluorescent lamps for aquariums, equivalent to sunlight, JBL SOLAR, JBL's development department wanted to use LED technology to utilize the existing flat-spectrum aquarium, but also to create a full SOLAR spectrum specifically for aquariums! It took a long time, but now the lighting is here!
