Fish reveal their colors with almost any food, but their coloration can be enhanced by certain types of food, just like people on a carrot diet. Mating or fighting between males demonstrates how intense fish colors can be. JBL, however, does not use cheap carotene, but natural astaxanthin (also carotene), obtained from krill shrimp and spirulina algae. This is a significantly more expensive but natural way to stimulate the beautiful colors of fish.
The composition of JBL PRONOVO COLOR has been selected so that it can also be used as a staple food like JBL PRONOVO BEL.
Species-appropriate concept for ornamental fish:
In addition to a staple food like JBL PRONOVO BEL, your fish can also be fed with other foods from the JBL PRONOVO range. Within the species concept, you can choose food specifically for certain fish species or choose alternatives to the staple food. It's not a problem if, for example, your bettas eat the food for your barbs and vice versa. The important thing is to offer the right food for each group of fish. Variety is always good!
Do you want to feed your neon tetras, armored catfish, etc., with the right food? No problem: in JBL's species concept, you will find bite-sized granules specifically for neon tetras (and other small characids (Characidae), whose composition is precisely adapted to the needs of the fish, including insects: JBL PRONOVO NEON. In their natural habitats in South America, neon tetras live in very nutrient-poor blackwater biotopes and depend on small, bite-sized plankton. Armored catfish, on the other hand, live on the bottom and have a different dietary spectrum. JBL PRONOVO CORYDORAS (Corydoras = scientific name for the genus of armored catfish) contains suitable ingredients, such as shrimp and spirulina. Armored catfish need a varied diet for healthy nutrition.
