Bottom-dwelling fish tend to look for their food at the bottom, and therefore sinking food tablets are ideal for them. Sinking granular food for other fish will also reach the bottom, but only if too much is given! Because of this, it is advisable to feed free-swimming and bottom-dwelling fish separately.
Biological species concept for ornamental fish:
The nutritional needs of bottom-dwelling fish also vary:
Almost all types of bottom-dwelling fish eat JBL PRONOVO TAB. But even free-swimming fish quickly learn by smell that the tablet consists of food. Many large fish eat them whole, and smaller ones take bites. Once the tablet is stuck to the glass, all fish enjoy eating it.
Among catfishes, there are many species that feed primarily on plants (e.g., dark ancistrus, starlight ancistrus). JBL PRONOVO PLECO has been developed specifically for these species. But even among catfishes, there are species like zebra pleco (Hypancistrus zebra = L 46) or cactus pleco (Pseudacanthicus cf. leopardus = L 114), which, although not predators, do not eat plant-based but animal-based food.
Corydoras have a fairly broad dietary spectrum. JBL PRONOVO CORYDORAS (Corydoras = scientific name for corydoras) contains suitable raw materials, such as shrimp and spirulina. Corydoras need a varied diet for healthy nutrition, including small organisms like shrimp, as well as carrion, which corydoras probe for on the bottom with their barbels. Botias tend to be omnivores. They like to eat snails, and sometimes aquarium plants. JBL PRONOVO BOTIA is designed for their diet.
