During this process, the food is exposed to temperatures no higher than 75 °C for only a few seconds, thus preserving the nutritional value of the ingredients.
Most dog and cat food manufacturers work with temperatures above 120 °C in a process known as extrusion, and these temperatures destroy essential nutrients such as enzymes and vitamins, while releasing fatty acids that can cause allergic and digestive problems.
