Pro-Kolin Enterogenic supports the intestinal mucosal barrier, modulates the immune system of the intestines, normalizes the microbiota balance, and maintains normal cobalamin levels in the serum. This way, it offers an effective solution for prolonged disorders or sensitivity of the gastrointestinal tract, so that dogs and cats can enjoy a happy and healthy life.
Alpha-glucan butyrogenic
This is resistant starch from which butyrate (a short-chain fatty acid) is produced by microbiota through fermentation. Butyrate is the preferred energy source for colonocytes1.
Cobalamin PXN-B12®
(Vitamin B12)
A decrease in serum cobalamin levels is common in animals with gastrointestinal disorders and may be due to malabsorption or dysbiosis of the intestinal microflora. Recent studies in dogs3 and cats4 have shown that oral administration of cobalamin is sufficiently effective in maintaining normal serum levels in animals with prolonged gastrointestinal disorders.
Increased butyrate levels lead to2:
• Maintaining the integrity of the mucosal barrier
- Increased production of mucus and goblet cells
- Reduced cellular damage and apoptosis
• Mucosal regeneration
- Maturation of epithelial cells
- Maintains normal cell phenotype
• Enhances the body's own anti-inflammatory processes.

Probiotics
Pro-Kolin Enterogenic contains the EU-registered strain Enterococcus faecium (DSM 10663 / NCIMB 10415) 4b1707. Probiotics work through competitive exclusion, immune stimulation, and lactic acid production.
Prebiotics
Pro-Kolin Enterogenic contains four different prebiotics to support the existing beneficial microflora.
• Preplex® prebiotic – a combination of fructooligosaccharide (FOS) and acacia (gum arabic). FOS has a simple structure and therefore ferments quickly, while acacia has a more complex structure and ferments more slowly. Their combination provides a prebiotic effect along the entire length of the intestinal tract.
• Mannanoligosaccharides (MOS): support the intestinal microflora and, with prolonged use, are able to bind to the fimbriae of some pathogens, including E. coli5.
• Beta-glucans: support the intestinal immune system.
