The feeding period varies depending on the severity of the gastrointestinal symptoms. In cases of acute disease, regeneration of the intestinal villi requires dietetic management for at least three weeks. Lifelong feeding may be necessary/beneficial in case of chronic disease. To optimise digestive function, the recommended daily ration should be divided into several small meals.
