Before buying a bird, you must choose a cage, which is as important as choosing the bird.
For your bird to feel comfortable, the cage should be as large as you can afford. Don't be fooled into thinking that if it can spread its wings inside, that's enough. Some bird species need a more specific cage shape and model, as well as a different arrangement and number of perches, feeders and waterers. Consult specialized stores for the needs of your chosen bird.
Bathing parrots is part of their daily feather care. It helps remove accumulated dust, moisturizes the skin and feathers. If you cannot constantly place a birdbath in the cage, it is good to put it in the morning so that the bird can dry by evening. Let the bird choose when to bathe and never force it. If it doesn't want to bathe at first, it doesn't mean it won't do it after a day, two or a week. The water should be lukewarm. A wet bird can get sick if the room is too cold or there is a draft. Bathing will not make birds sick; they get sick when their immune system is weak, they are under stress, have an improper diet, and poor hygiene. Bathing with a flower sprayer is not as effective, and this is important for good feather maintenance for any bird.
