Sera air pumps are particularly powerful. They are suitable for supplying air to air-operated filters (e.g. sera L 60) or for driving decorative elements.
Models 275 and 550 have electronically controlled flow rates.
sera improves the popular diaphragm air pumps for aquariums and garden ponds: The three long-life pumps from the Plus series are now smaller and more powerful than their predecessors. In addition, they are energy-saving, as the new version consumes 33% less energy!
The three models from the "air plus" series are not only smaller and have a new design, but they also have improved technical characteristics. The internal design has been fundamentally changed. For the 'air 275 R plus' and 'air 550 R plus' models, the reduction in power consumption (4 W instead of 6 W and 8 W instead of 12 W) leads to a 33% reduction in energy consumption compared to the previous model. The improved diaphragm material results in higher pressure, and the air intake filter is now easily accessible.
Bonus: A free check valve is included with the pump. In addition, depending on the model, several Y-splitters are included for various purposes, for example, for various air-operated decorations.

Instructions for use and safety:
Attention! Unplug all appliances from the mains before touching the water.
Unplug before opening the pump.
The pump must be placed above water level (in a dry and splash-protected place!), but not above or directly on the aquarium.
Sera strongly recommends using a check valve, which prevents water from returning through the hose (Fig. 2). These parts significantly extend the life of the diaphragm and rubber parts.
Never leave the pump on for more than a few seconds without it being connected to a pressure consumer or at temperatures below 50C. These actions lead to premature wear of the rubber parts, especially with more powerful pumps.
Each pump can move due to its own vibrations. To avoid this, place it on a rough surface. We recommend securing the pump in some way to avoid problems (Fig. 3).

The pump must always be placed in a safe and dry location, even if used for ornamental ponds.
Protect from frost and ice!
High air humidity can cause corrosion of metal parts. Problems of this kind are not covered by the warranty.
Avoid direct sunlight and other strongly heating factors.
Do not touch or plug in the pump with wet hands, protect from splashes.
If water enters the pump, immediately disconnect it from the power supply and consult a professional.
The pump must only be used for its intended purpose.
Damage to the electrical parts, plug, cable or packaging must only be repaired by authorized persons or by the manufacturer. In case of a problem, the pump must be disconnected from the power supply and provided for repair.
What to do if the pump's power weakens?
If this happens, check the connected filter, stone or air hose for kinks or blockages. If they all work normally, check the air filter of the pump (located at the bottom of the pump). If it does not appear dirty enough to hinder power, then the diaphragms are most likely worn out.
Depending on the ambient temperature and load, each pump needs its diaphragms (membranes) replaced every 6 – 12 months.
