sera siporax Nitrat-minus Professional is a highly effective filter material for the biological degradation of nitrates with parallel degradation of nitrites and ammonium. Denitrification is optimally enhanced and maximized by the biopolymer sphere, corresponding to the siporax ring. The degradable biopolymer serves as a carbon source for the nitrate-degrading bacteria.
The biopolymer sphere not only increases the biological performance of the unique sintered glass tube filter, but at the same time increases the filter's retention time in two ways. Besides the degradation of pollutants, the special design of the sphere optimizes water flow and thus improves the transport of substances into the inner siporax ring. sera siporax Nitrat-minus Professional is therefore almost maintenance-free and, above all, a long-lasting filter material. The frequency of water changes can also be reduced. Water parameters can be improved by siporax Nitrat-minus Professional, especially in larger and/or densely stocked community aquariums or cichlid aquariums.
sera siporax Nitrat-minus Professional can be combined with existing siporax products, such as siporax Professional, siporax mini Professional, and siporax pond Professional. By providing carbon, it will also improve pollutant degradation there.
The biopolymer spheres are degraded by bacteria over time and dissolve. They can simply be replaced to renew the carbon source.
Note: In primarily planted or densely planted aquariums with corresponding nitrogen requirements, this filter media may lead to the need for additional NPK fertilization (e.g. with sera flore 4 plant).
