Antitussive (cough) syrups for dogs
Antitussive syrups are used for wet coughs, with abundant amounts of discharge from the respiratory system. The purpose of their application is:
- Dissolving thick or viscous mucous secretions
- Relaxation of the smooth muscles of the bronchi and trachea
They are part of the supportive therapy for "kennel cough" and other forms of cough
The herbal extracts in these syrups do not directly eliminate the cause of the disease but act symptomatically and improve the patient's condition.
