Rhubarb root extract (Rheum officinale) – 16%, excipients. Action: Reduces the levels of Transforming Growth Factor (TGF-β1) and Plasminogen Activator Inhibitor (PAI-1). These factors are key components of renal fibrosis and the resulting proteinuria, which severely worsens renal function. It is advisable to combine it with an ACE inhibitor (e.g., Prilium) in the final stage of CRF for even more significant suppression of renal fibrosis. Rubenal is advisable to be used from the very beginning of CRF diagnosis, especially when proteinuria is detected (e.g., with a urine test strip).
Dosage: Tablets for kidney failure in dogs – Rubenal 75mg/60 tablets
Cats: 1 tablet twice daily
Dogs under 3 kg: 1/2 tablet twice daily
Dogs from 3 to 6 kg: 1 tablet twice daily
Dogs from 6 to 10 kg: 2 tablets twice daily
Administration can continue for the remainder of the animal's life.
