Active substances and excipients:
Each pipette contains: A clear, colourless to yellowish solution.
Therapeutic indications: For infestations solely with fleas or in combination with ticks.
Against fleas: Treatment and prevention of flea infestation (Ctenocephalides felis). A single treatment protects against future flea infestation for 7 weeks.
Prevents flea reproduction by inhibiting the development of eggs into adult parasites for 12 weeks after product application.
The product can be used as part of the treatment for flea allergy dermatitis (FAD) diagnosed by a veterinarian.
Against ticks: Treatment for tick infestation (Ixodes ricinus).
One treatment with the product provides a persistent acaricidal effect lasting 2 weeks against Ixodes ricinus and 4 weeks against Dermacentor reticulatus and Rhipicephalus sanguineus.
Not all ticks of the species Rhipicephalus sanguineus and Dermacentor reticulatus will be killed within the first 48 hours if they infested the animal before its treatment with the product.
Contraindications: Do not use on rabbits, as it may lead to adverse reactions or even death. Do not use in cases of hypersensitivity to the active substances or to any of the excipients.
Adverse reactions: Transient cosmetic effects such as wetting or slight scaling of the skin may be observed at the application site. Given the accumulated experience regarding the active substances in spot-on solutions, transient skin reactions at the application site (skin scaling, local alopecia, pruritus, erythema, skin discoloration) and itching or alopecia affecting the entire body may be observed after their application. Hypersalivation, reversible neurological signs (hyperesthesia, depression, nervous signs), respiratory system signs, or vomiting may be observed. These adverse reactions occur in very rare cases. If you notice any adverse reactions, including those not described in the leaflet, please inform your veterinarian.
Dosage: For dogs with a body weight over 60 kg, an appropriate combination of pipettes should be used.
Method of administration: Remove the pipette from the blister. Hold the pipette upright. Press the pipette in the narrow part so that the entire content transfers to the main part. Break the tip of the pipette along the marked line.
Part the hair on the neck in front of the shoulder blades until the skin is visible. Place the tip of the pipette against the hair and gently squeeze the entire content of the pipette in several places. If necessary, the content of the pipette can be applied to one or two additional spots along the spine to ensure even distribution of the product and to avoid more superficial application on the hair, especially in large dogs.
Drop-stop system (the content of the pipette can only flow out when the main part is squeezed).
A single treatment is provided by applying one pipette, with the possibility of treating with the product every month. For optimal control of flea and tick infestation and flea reproduction, the treatment plan should be adjusted to the local epidemiological situation.
Special warnings:
Submerging the animal in water or shampooing immediately after treatment may reduce the duration of the product's effect. The product remains effective against fleas for 5 weeks if the dog is bathed monthly with shampoo after product application. If the dog needs to be shampooed, it is better to do so before treatment. Twice submerging the dog in water after product application does not affect its efficacy against adult fleas or its ability to prevent the development of eggs into adult parasites. There is no evidence that submerging the dog in water or shampooing affects the product's acaricidal efficacy. In cases of infestation, beds, bedding, and resting places such as carpets and upholstered furniture should be disinfected with a suitable insecticide and regularly vacuumed. To reduce the number of fleas inhabiting the environment, all animals living in the same place should be treated with an appropriate deworming product.
The product does not prevent ticks from attaching to the animal. The transmission of transmissible diseases by ticks cannot be completely excluded if conditions are favorable. An immediate effect against Ixodes ricinus has been demonstrated, meaning that ticks of these species will be killed within 48 hours after product application. If the dog is infested with Dermacentor reticulatus or Rhipicephalus sanguineus ticks when the product is applied, they may not be killed within the first 48 hours. Once dead, ticks usually fall off. Any remaining ticks should be carefully removed so that their mouthparts do not remain in the skin.
Special precautions for animals during product use:
For external use only. Animals must be accurately weighed before treatment. In the absence of safety data, this product should not be applied to puppies younger than 10 weeks and/or weighing less than 2 kg. Avoid contact of the product with the dog's eyes or mouth. Ingestion should be avoided as a result of licking the application site by treated animals or those that have been in contact with them. Do not apply the product to wounds or broken skin. Due to the lack of further safety studies, do not repeat treatment at intervals shorter than 4 weeks.
This veterinary medicinal product is available without a prescription.
