Animal species for which the veterinary medicinal product is intended: Dogs
Therapeutic indications: Treatment of infestations with fleas (Ctenocephalides spp.) and ticks (Dermacentor reticulatus). The insecticidal effect against new infestations with adult fleas lasts up to 8 weeks. The product has a persistent acaricidal effect lasting up to 4 weeks against ticks (Rhipicephalus sanguineus, Ixodes ricinus, Dermacentor reticulatus). Not all ticks of the species Rhipicephalus sanguineus and Ixodes ricinus will be killed within the first 48 hours if they infested the animal before treatment with the product. This will occur within one week. The product can be used as part of a treatment strategy for flea allergy dermatitis (FAD) diagnosed by a veterinarian.
Contraindications: In the absence of available data, do not use on puppies younger than 2 months and/or lighter than 2 kg. Do not use on sick animals (diseases affecting the entire body, such as fever and others) or those in convalescence. Do not use on rabbits, as it can lead to adverse reactions or even death. This product is specifically formulated for dogs. Do not use on cats, as it may lead to overdose. Do not use in cases of hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.
Adverse reactions: If the animal licks the product, a short period of hypersalivation may be observed, mainly due to the nature of the excipient. Very rarely, transient skin reactions at the application site (skin discoloration, local alopecia, pruritus, erythema) and pruritus or alopecia affecting the entire body have been reported. Exceptionally, hypersalivation, reversible neurological signs (hyperesthesia, depression, nervous signs), vomiting or respiratory symptoms are observed after use. If you notice any adverse reactions, including those not described in this leaflet, or if you think the veterinary medicinal product is not working, please inform your veterinarian.
Method of administration and dosage:
For external use only. Topical application to the skin according to the animal's weight as follows:
* 1 pipette of 0.67 ml for dogs weighing between 2 and 10 kg.
* 1 pipette of 1.34 ml for dogs weighing between 10 and 20 kg.
* 1 pipette of 2.68 ml for dogs weighing between 20 and 40 kg.
* 1 pipette of 4.02 ml for dogs weighing between 40 and 60 kg.
For dogs over 60 kg - 2 pipettes of 2.68 ml.
Shrink-wrapped pipette:
Hold the pipette upright. Squeeze the narrow part of the pipette so that the entire contents transfer to the main part. Break along the marked line of the spot-on pipette.
Part the animal's fur until the skin is visible. Place the tip of the pipette against the fur and gently squeeze the pipette several times until it is empty. Repeat the procedure in one or two more spots along the backline.
For optimal control of flea and/or tick infestation, the treatment plan should be adjusted to the local epidemiological situation.
In the absence of safety studies, the minimum treatment interval is 4 weeks.
Special warnings: Shampooing one hour before deworming does not affect the product's efficacy against fleas. Bathing/immersion in water two days after product application should be avoided. Immersion in water weekly for one minute reduces the duration of the persistent insecticidal effect against fleas by one week, and therefore frequent swimming or shampooing should be avoided. The product does not prevent ticks from attaching to the animal. If the animal has been treated before infestation with ticks, they will be killed within the first 24-48 hours after attachment. This usually happens before the ticks start to suck blood, which reduces, but does not exclude, the risk of disease transmission. After dying, ticks usually fall off, and if not, they can be removed by careful pulling. Fleas from pets most often infest the surrounding environment - beds, carpets, baskets, upholstered furniture, and resting places. In case of massive invasion, these areas should be dewormed with a suitable insecticide before treating the dog, and regularly vacuumed. Do not apply the product to wounds or broken skin.
